EXT.FOREST -  Night

We open with a POV shot of a journalist checking his equipment whilst dressing up as a cult member. As he walks into the dark forest where the cult is having a meeting.

Journalist

Check Check. Hello, can you hear me?

Operator

I Hear you loud and clear, Your feed is also coming in smoothly.

Journalist

Good

EXT. FOREST - CULT MEETING - Night

The JOURNALIST Then walks into the forest and meets discreetly with the body guard guarding the entrance to the meeting. The JOURNALIST then gives a token to the Bodyguard (a ticket into the meeting). He walks into the gathering of cult members.

CULT MEMBER 1

(Whispers)

Oh you're just in time, we were just about to start the chant.

Cult Leader

(booming shout)

Welcome blessed children of the Living World. Tonight we commence our 503rd meeting. But before we begin may we chant the words of our gods.

Cult Leader

(booming shout)

Terra Mater

Cult Members

…nos renascimur.

Cult Leader

(booming shout)

Ex cinere…

Cult Members

…iterum vivimus.

Cult Leader

(booming shout)

Vita in terra…

Cult Members

…vita in nobis

The Journalist mispronounces the third chant as V is pronounced at W in latin and gets caught. The Cult members then turn to stare at his mistake, all eyes on the journalist. The journalist walks back slowly nervously.

JUMP CUT TO:

EXT. FOREST - CULT MEETING - Night

Pov shot of the journalist with a heavy breath desperately trying to escape the forest as cult members try to find him

EXT. FOREST - CULT MEETING - Night

The Journalist catches his breath behind a tree and calls for help. Whilst cult members are trying to find him

JOURNALIST

(Scared whisper)

Hello. Help. Can you hear me? send help now. call the police.

The bright spot lights of the cult members shine on the journalist.

JUMP CUT TO:

EXT. FOREST - CULT MEETING - Night

The Journalist gets captured and dragged by the arms as the camera falls off and cuts to static then black.

FADE in:

HOUSE- INTERVIEW OPERATOR - DAY

We open with a medium shot of an interview with the operator as he explains what just happened and the background.

(Off camera)

So how did you first hear of the cult?

Operator

Well we had gotten an anonymous tip off from an insider. There was this cult at large called the children of the living world. At first we thought they were just some church organisation with a go green initiative, maybe a bit suspicious but seemingly harmless. It wasn’t until the whistle blower told us they were doing some illegal stuff like identity theft, fraud  kidnappings murders after hearing that we knew it was in us to investigate as Journalists. They also had told me about the secret meeting and gave us a spare costume and a token to let one of us in and sadly well we all know what happened. (cries)

CROSS FADE:

HOUSE - INTERVIEW Community Member - DAY

We open with a medium shot of an interview with a member of the community who has witnessed the cult.

(Off camera)

Hello Sir, welcome. How are you?

FRED ANGLES

(Off camera)

I'm good, thank you.

Interviewer

(Off camera)

So today I will be asking you questions relating to the children of the living 

world

FRED ANGLES

Ok, good. Let's begin.

Interviewer

(Off camera)

So Mr Angles, what was your first encounter with the children of the living world?

FRED ANGLES

Well I first saw them buy into the town. They bought a nice house and converted it into their office, their main base of operations. At first I just thought they were some go green organisation like a radical greenpeace or some weird vegan hippie commune. They started out giving out flyers promoting their “green way of life” but something always felt off about these guys. They were different, they were religious.

CUT TO:

HOUSE - CULT HEADQUARTERS - DAY

B-roll drone shot montage of the cult headquarters. As the drone flies above it gets a jammed static image then falls.  Footage recovers cult member picks up the drone and footage cuts.

We don't know the extent of the influence of 

this cult. We don't know how dangerous they are.
